Lee Walton Plays The World (On His Phone)
A Chess Performance in 40 Parts

This November, at the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum in St. Augustine Florida, Walton will be playing 40 simultaneous games of chess with 40 players from around the world. In the exhibitions space there will be 40 chess boards. Walton will be playing the games remotely from his iPhone. The chess boards will be updated daily in accordance to each move. This exhibition will change daily.


Exhibition Lectures and Workshops

This exhibition will also include a chess lecture and workshop from Dereque Kelley, a National Chess Master and producer of the well known ChessOpenings.com.

Art historian, Chris Balashack will be giving a talk on the historical overlap between chess and art. Chess inspired sound pieces and drawings will also be on site.


Playing the Games

Walton will play all 40 games simultaneously from his iPhone using Social Chess, an on-line application. There will be 24 hour time limit for each move.
